A verbal spat broke out between TMC MLA Babul Supriyo and BJP MP Abhijit Ganguly on the Second Hooghly Bridge on Friday evening. According to eyewitnesses, the altercation occurred when Babul's car was allegedly overtaken by Abhijit's vehicle.
Babul alleged that Abhijit's car was being driven recklessly and he tried to caution the driver. However, Abhijit allegedly responded rudely and even hurled abuses at Babul. The altercation continued for around 15-20 minutes, with Babul demanding an apology from Abhijit.
Babul also claimed that the car of Tamluk MP hit a bike rider on tjr bridge. Locals gathered at the spot, and Babul claimed that Abhijit threatened him, saying "You just watch out." Abhijit did not apologize or get out of his car, Babul alleged.
